Cheryl Sleboda named Threads of Success Coordinator!

Cheryl Sleboda

We are excited to announce that Cheryl Sleboda has been named as Coordinator of the debut Threads of Success conference this fall!

Sleboda is an award-winning quilter, lecturer, teacher, and author who runs two businesses: merchandise and media company Muppin Inc., and Sew Much Cosplay, which targets the burgeoning audience for and creators of fantasy costuming and cosplay.

She also teaches niche businesses how to grow through technology. She was formerly a 20-year executive of a specialty market retail industry, with a strong background in distribution and retail, business consultation, and extensive social media experience.

"Joining the Quilts, Inc. team gives me a chance to leverage not only my many years of experience as an executive in a similar niche industry, but also my background with diverse solo, small, and mid-size companies and helping them grow," Sleboda says.

"Threads of Success represents a focus on supporting and sustaining new businesses in the quilt and sewing field. And I'm very excited and honored to be a part of that."

Sleboda’s duties will include overseeing most aspects of the conference, as well as planning, promotion, and selecting faculty and speakers for future editions. She will work with Quilts, Inc. Vice President of Education Marcia Barker and Vice President of Resource Development Teresa Duggan.

"Cheryl brings an undeniable tidal wave of ideas to a conference that centers on a topic very close to her heart—entrepreneurship!” Barker says. “We are excited and happy to welcome her positive presence on this project and look forward to working together."

"Threads of Success is an exciting forum for businesses of all kinds in the quilting and sewing industry to gather and learn from experts in the field, as well as network with each other and with the companies vending at Quilt Market," Sleboda sums up.

"This is an incredible ‘leg up’ opportunity for designers, makers, teachers, writers, online content creators, and more to come together and create amazing businesses. The conference is exactly the type of education and programming I wish had been available to me when I started my business nearly 10 years ago!"

In addition to her role as Coordinator, Sleboda will also be presenting four breakout sessions during the inaugural Threads of Success conference, October 25-28, 2019. They include: "Going Full Time: Transitioning to Your New Day Job," "All About Teaching Contracts," "Demo to Sell," and "Building a Personal Brand."
