It is crucial for the future of our industry to nurture, support, and promote the efforts of those who are either new to the quilting and sewing arenas or wish to break in. That has been our mission since Threads of Success was introduced in 2019.

Whether you’re a fabric or pattern designer, author, notion inventor, or have something entirely new to bring to the table, our goal is to equip Threads of Success attendees with the knowledge, skills, and connections to make that journey easier. 

Our initial conference attracted more than 100 incredibly enthusiastic students who took classes, attended seminars, networked with each other, and had an industry mentor who guided them onto the Quilt Market show floor for a hands-on experience unlike any other.

And while the pandemic scuttled plans for 2020, we planned to forge ahead with Threads of Success in conjunction with the 2021 fall International Quilt Market in Houston Oct. 23-25 under the leadership of its new coordinator, Heidi Kaisand of American Quilt Retailer. 

However, while Quilt Market will continue as planned, we have made the decision to cancel Threads of Success 2021 due to the extra attention that the Threads stand-alone conference requires. Our standard is always to produce events that meet or exceed the high expectations of our attendees, and due to the difficult year all show organizers have faced, we have concluded that Threads must be postponed.

While this has been a very trying year and a half on so many fronts worldwide, we know our industry—and the people who make it run with their creativity, ingenuity, and passion—always rise to challenges and thrive.
